Southdown Estate is a producer of quality Sauvignon Blanc and the wine is currently for sale as;

Martinborough makes some of the finest Sauvignon Blanc in New Zealand owing to the low yields caused by the southern ocean influence.

The climate and soil at Southdown Estate grows grapes which make Sauvignon Blanc with ripe, tropical fruit aromas whilst showing softer fruit characters combined with lovely length and texture on the palate - this leads to a great balance in the wines and avoids any overt herbaceous and unripe characters.

Since the first harvest in 2007, Southdown Sauvignon Blanc grapes have been blended in the world renowned Ata Rangi label along with other prestigious Martinborough labels, including Palliser Estate and Martinborough Vineyard. For the past three years the Tablelands Wine Company have produced a single vineyard wine under the Lagoon Hill label from Southdown grapes.

The 2014 harvest will see another single vineyard wine made from Southdown grapes by Rod Easthope, which he makes exclusively for Naked Wines.

Please contact Elaine if you would like to know more about buying quality wine direct from the grower.
